Shriners Annual Willis Chili Cookoff

For four decades, the C.M. Joslin Post, Auxiliary, and SAL 618 American Legion in Willis, Texas have been dedicated to supporting the Shriners Children's Hospital through their annual chili cook-off. This longstanding tradition has not only raised an incredible $525,022.54 in proceeds but has also brought together a community of compassionate individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of children in need.

The generous support of esteemed partners such as Wiesner Auto Group, Milstead Auto, Mr. Thomas Ewers, Mr. John Henderson, and many others has been instrumental in the success of this noble cause. Their contributions have provided essential resources and funding for the hospital, ensuring that children with diverse medical needs receive the care and treatment they deserve.

Numerous vendors and community members have also joined forces to make the chili cook-off a resounding success, offering a wide range of items and services to support the fundraising efforts. Their contributions, from exquisite jewelry to state-of-the-art barbecue pits, have added an extra touch of warmth and generosity to the event.

President Glenda Ellis and the auxiliary members have worked tirelessly to organize and run the event, from categorizing items to managing activities such as raffles, cake walks, and the cook-off judging. Their dedication to making a difference in the lives of children is truly commendable.
The spirit of giving exemplified by the Houston Shriner Club, Scout Troop 618, and Constable Cash Precinct One has made a lasting impact on the community. The support of Veteran Robert Aulo, with his passionate auctioneering, has also played a vital role in raising additional funds for the hospital.

As we reflect on the success of this event, we are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community and the tireless efforts of all involved. The impact of this event extends far beyond the funds raised; it is a testament to the power of unity, compassion, and generosity in creating a brighter future for children in need.

With deep gratitude and heartfelt appreciation, we look forward to continuing this tradition of giving for many more years to come, knowing that together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. The Shriners Children's Hospital is a beacon of hope for children with various medical needs, providing them with the treatment and care they deserve. Children from several countries are welcomed with open arms, where tears and pain are transformed into smiles. It is truly a place of healing and love.
